The Petrisberg, located directly above Trier’s city centre, has a great natural charm. The Landesgartenschau Trier (regional garden show), held on the premises in 2004, saw the converted area enriched with a high-quality design of the public area, as well as a recreational infrastructure unique to the region.

The permanent garden areas of the Landesgartenschau are now maintained by Petrispark GmbH, a subsidiary of the City of Trier, and are used to host events. Due to the infrastructural investments in creating a diverse and sophisticated landscape with integrated recreational and sports facilities, the Petrisberg site has developed into a very popular destination for excursions.
