The high quality of the WIP Science Park Trier is attested to by 160 businesses with over 1,100 staff from knowledge-based, service-oriented and research-oriented fields. Over the last seven years, the WIP has established itself as a prominent, independent business site in the region, and is recognised as evolving independently from the Petrisberg as a whole.

It is time for this to be documented on a separate website. The new URL www.wip-trier.de has recently been set up, and presents the science park, its businesses, profile, layout, office premises and services, with a smart new design.

In early July 2011, the last building plot still available in the "Am Wissenschaftspark" street in the business park has been built: the Jam Software GmbH expands and thus leaves its office of the Max-Planck-Strasse in order to move into its own new building in the business park.

Furthermore, all the SuiteDreams apartments and three of four Mediaboxes located on the Water Band are now occupied, the fourth one being currently under construction.

This will yet contributed to the final completion of the "Am Wissenschaftspark" street. The construction works should still probably last until mid-August.

The Petrisberg medical centre officially started up operations on 01.06.2011 with the opening of the Petrisberg pharmacy and Kersting medical supplies store.

The medical centre comprises a total of 11 leased units spread over an area of 2,300 m² and almost 10,000 m³. The investment volume totals around 4.5 million Euros. Responsible for the design, construction and site management is the engineering company Syncron, with architect Helmut Moersdorf from Igel, under the project management of architect Claudia Karl.

The first five units are now occupied. The ground floor is home to the Petrisberg pharmacy and the Kerstin medical supplies store, as well as a waiting room which also hosts evening events and seminars. The basement houses the logopaedics practice, while the first floor has a private practice for internal medicine. The second floor is taken up almost completely by the orthopaedic clinic. Other practices will complete the centre by January 2012.

Well-equipped offices in a great, bright and modern location: the medienfabrik Trier agency moved mid-February in its newly built office premises in the "Mediabox" at the New Petrisberg. In the heart of the Science Park with a view over the atmospheric Water Band, the staff will find here ideal conditions for a highly positive work-life balance.

The medienfabrik Trier agency expects thus gaining new momentum, thanks also to the strategic alliance with two other long-time partner agencies: in addition to the already on-site production company for audiovisual media, mediawork:X, the rdts Ag Internet service provider will move late March in one of the four Mediaboxes located at the Water Band. With 35 permanent employees on a 1,000 square meters business area, we will find here one of the largest units in communication services in the region of Trier.

On the occasion of the informational event yesterday organised by the Trier CDU on the theme of "A modern settlement policy in favour of citizens", CDU Secretary-General Hermann Gröhe has visited the WIP together with Bundestag member Bernhard Kaster (Federal Diet), Bundesrat member Berti Adams (Federal Council) as well as representatives of industry and interested citizens. During a joint tour on the site and the visit of some WIP companies, the politicians were enthusiastic about the development of the Petrisberg and the sustainability of the WIP-SCIENCE PARK Trier.

As the very first company, the mediawork:X production house moved earlier this week in its new head office and studio at the Water Band. Founded in 2005, Rene Dumont and Julia Weisberg's production house has grown steadily in recent years. The new production house at the Water Band presents a high-volume production studio equipped with Blue-Box technology, a small cinema, an editing room, a recording studio and all kinds of cinematic special technical equipment.

Renowned companies such as Medienfabrik Trier and rdts AG will follow shortly and will make the Mediabox the WIP-SCIENCE PARK Trier business district's "No. 1 Business Address".

The EGP wish all companies a good start in their new head office at "Belvedere 2".

In cooperation with its institutions in the Greater Region and its partner, the TechnologieZentrum Trier, the 1, 2, 3-GO Network would like to cordially invite all interested persons to the first national event on the 2010-2011 round of the business plan competition.

This event will take place on Thursday 27 January 2011 at 18.00 at the TechnologieZentrum Trier, Max-Planck-Strasse 6, under the auspices of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economy, Transportation, Agriculture and Viticulture.

At 18:30, all interested persons are cordially invited to attend the conference, which will be held on the theme "Why can a fish and a bird STILL build a common nest - from the practice of intercultural management", and presented by Alexandra von Bose, speaker at the Worms University of Applied Sciences and at the Mannhein DHBW.

The follow up discussions will be further deepened in a question-answer session with the audience. The exchange of ideas will then continue during a  networking & cocktail party, sponsored by the TechnolgoieZentrum Trier.

As of January 1, 2011, Matthias Albert took over the Monte Petris Restaurant as sole manager. The handover, organised by his partner Roland Hach, took place in the framework of a party counting about 100 invited guests, and with suckling pig, fresh beer and regional wines on the menu. "Three years ago, we have jointly set the right course with our investment here on the site, today our plan is fulfilled and Matthias Albert took over the restaurant under its sole responsibility", said Hach.

For the new year, Matthew Albert has set a special goal, he wishes to offer  the finest outdoor terrace in Trier. "However, we will focus all our efforts to also always offer, plus a good and varied cuisine, an attentive service", said Albert.
