The founding of EGP Entwicklungsgesellschaft Petrisberg GmbH made the development and marketing of the Petrisberg more effective and efficient. Competent development partners were gained in the form of public and private associates, who greatly supported the company in the area of project development and management. The city provided the necessary support at a communal political level.

Another important key to the rapid development is the unique recreational facilities, which were created as part of the Trier Regional Garden Show (Landesgartenschau) in 2004 - the Petrispark, today open to the public.
